Oncogenetic Consultation

Genetic evaluation has become a key component in the early detection, diagnosis and treatment of many types of cancer. About 5% to 10% of all cancers are thought to be strongly related to an inherited gene mutation. Individuals with a personal and/or family history of cancer, or clinical characteristics suggestive of hereditary cancer are candidates for an oncogenetic consultation and cancer risk assessment.

Dr. Rosner is a specialist in Medical Genetics, with expertise in the Medical Genetics of Gastrointestinal Diseases. He serves as the Director of the Clinic for Hereditary Tumors of the Gastrointestinal tract at the Department of Gastroenterology at the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov).

Dr. Rosner provides Oncogenetic Consultations at his Private Practice in Tel Aviv and at The Gastromed Specialist Center.

An Oncogenetic consultation includes:

  • An interview about your personal and family medical history

  • Evaluation for lifetime risk of developing cancer

  • Designing a personalized surveillance program

  • Recommend relevant genetic testing options

If you choose to proceed with genetic testing, blood may be drawn during your visit and sent to an accredited experienced private laboratory for testing.

Payment for genetic testing is not included in the price of the consultation and will be made directly to the genetic laboratory.
